Situated on the Mississippi River, Memphis is Tennessee’s largest city. It’s home to more than 650,000 residents and 16 Cash America stores.
Planning a trip to the “River City?” Here are a few suggestions to make the most of your trip.

Memphis has played a significant role in influencing American blues music, particularly Beale Street, a national historic landmark near the river. Beale Street is packed with wonderful restaurants, lounges and large music venues such as the B.B. King Blues Club and Restaurant. No trip to Beale Street is complete without a visit to the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and the FedEx Forum, home of the NBA Grizzlies.

Hungry? A trip to Memphis requires a visit to a local barbecue joint, such as Corky’s, one of the top barbecue restaurants in the city. In Memphis, barbecue means pork. Favorites include pulled-pork sandwiches topped with coleslaw, a squirt of thin vinegary sauce and baby back ribs.
Another favorite tourist attraction is the Peabody Hotel, featured in the movie “The Firm” and famous for its daily “Duck Walk.” The Peabody Ducks actually live on the rooftop and every day at 11 a.m. ride the elevators down to the ground floor where they walk through the hotel lobby to the fountain for a quick swim.
While you’re sampling the city’s rich culture, don’t forget to visit one of our Cash America stores in the area. Stop in and see what we have to offer as our Cash America coworkers are friendly, courteous and the epitome of Memphis charm!
