Pawn borrowers are persons on a tight budget who are temporarily short of cash and
need a small, short-term loan. They have an immediate and unplanned need for cash. Something they were not expecting came up -- an auto expense, doctor bill, large utility bill...
something not in their budget. They are not able to solve their need for temporary cash with
credit cards, their bank, credit union or friends and relatives. They are almost equally men and
women. Most are working people between the ages of 18 to 40 and many have small children.
They live in the neighborhood near the pawnshop.
